League Format

1. Each team in the Infinity Badminton League (IBL) Season 2 shall play the matces in folloing format and sequence:

Match No. 1                Women's Doubles                                  2 point Match

Match  No. 2 Men's Doubles 1 2 point Match

Match No, 3 Men's Doubles 2 3 Point Match

Match No. 4 Men's Doubles 3 2 Point Match

Match No. 5 Mixed Doubles 3 Point Match

Match No.6 Men's Doubles 4 2 Point Match

2. There shall be no dead rubbers in the league stage, Every match will be decisive and contribute to the final outcome of the ranking in league table.

3. In the qualifier and finals, the team winning the the best of the 6 matches will be declared winner. The matches will be stopped when a team wins 4 matches in the fixture.

Scoring Format

1. Best of 3 games up to 15 points will be played at rally point system. As per the new BWF guidelines.

2. If the score reaches 14-14, the play will continue until a player / pair leads by 2 point to decare the winner of the match. The point will extend upto maximum of 21 point which mean at 20-20, the player / pair who score 21 will be declare winner on golden point.

3. In final set the side will be changed (Mandatory) at 8 points. Between sets, 1 min break will be given.

Knock out Fixtures:

1. In the knock out stage the fixtures shall be played in the following format

League stage Rank 1 will enter to the FINAL directly.

Qualifier matcjh will be played between League Rank 2 and League Rank 3 

Losing team of Qualifier will be declared the THIRD Place team and Winner of Qualifier will qualify for the Final.

3. Team ranking in the league stage will be done by League points, in case of tie of points the second paramenters will be prioritised in the order of Matches Won, Point difference, set won, toss of coin as last option.

2. In case of Tie in the finals or Qualifier, a tie breaker match shall be played between the teams. It will be a gender Neutral game, the best pair in the teams will play a tie breaker match of 21 point of 1 set, golden point at 21.

Player Repetition Rule

1. Within a Tie

• A player may be repeated (2 times) in multiple matches inside the same tie, only a player can repeat with different partner in the next match, but the same pair cannot be repeated in multiple matches.

• Restriction: If a player already played  a 3 pointer match, he cannot be repeated in another match that result in 3 league points. 

Example: If player A played in Tie 2 which has 3 point as outcome, the player A cannot be repeated in any other matches that results in 3 point as outcome in the same tie.

• Each of the matches that results in 3 league point must feature different players to ensure fairness. 

2. Across the League

• A player can play a maximum of  Six (6) matches in the entire league (including league stage). Once a player has completed 6 matches, they are not eligible to play in remaining matches of the league excluding the finals and qualifier

In simple word, We have 5 league matches , each player can play 6 max with maximum repetition of 2 per player in a day.

• Example: Player 'A' plays 2 matches in Tie 1, 1 match in Tie 2, 2 matches in Tie 3, and 1 matches in Tie 4.

Total = 6 matches.

Player A cannot be fielded because he / she has already reached the maximum quota.

• No plapper repetation will be allowed in the qualifier and final, In Qualifier and final each payer will be allowed to play only 1 matches.
